Learning in Two Time Zones: Day in the Life of a BU International Student Learning Remotely
Making it to class by 9am is difficult for some college students...now try 3:30am. This pre-dawn wakeup call has become the typical morning routine of Boston University senior Christina Yang, an international student taking her courses from her home in Taipei, Taiwan. Christina has been studying remotely since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and discusses some of the challenges presented by stark time zone difference. However, she explains that there are some perks to living in a country where COVID-19 is currently a relatively low threat to daily life. Christina is able to catch up with friends from high school, spend time with family, and study in cozy cafes and restaurants all around the city.
